Client Results
Most people who come to me in Sandbach aren't starting from zero — they've tried everything, it just never stuck.
What actually changes results isn't more willpower, it's better structure. Every client you'll see below had the same struggles (time, stress, inconsistency) until they learned how to simplify and systemise progress. These aren't extreme transformations or full-time athletes — they're parents, professionals, and shift workers from Sandbach and beyond who built sustainable results through small, consistent wins and the right support when life got messy.

David
David's goal was to lose his belly, gain muscle, and reach true photoshoot condition.
He'd always trained, but weekends and alcohol were the undoing of his progress.
"Drinking on a weekend is the worst for me" he admitted.
That cycle of weekend indulgence followed by restriction was holding him back — physically and mentally.
We locked in structure and accountability, focusing on consistency, recovery, and smarter nutrition instead of all-or-nothing swings.
David reached photoshoot-ready shape, lean, confident, and genuinely happy — six-pack visible and energy restored.

Katy
Katy works as a midwife and had always needed a target to work towards — but training had become just going through the motions.
She wanted something tangible to aim for, so we set out to build a photoshoot-worthy physique.
Varying shift patterns between long days and nights made consistency a constant juggling act. Energy, recovery, and finding time to train properly were all battling against an unpredictable schedule.
We built a programme based on what she needed to craft the physique she wanted — taking into account her injury history, movement preferences, and exactly where she needed to be for the shoot.
Structure gave her direction, and accountability kept her moving forward even when shifts changed.
Katy achieved her goal of a photoshoot physique — lean, strong, and confident.
She proved that even with the most demanding schedule, the right plan makes all the difference.

Client
My client set out to lose weight, reduce body fat, and build lean muscle — aiming to get leaner, healthier, and more energetic. He also wanted to hopefully get down 80kg..
Low energy, inconsistent sleep, and unstructured nutrition were holding back progress.
He worked hard but often crashed; effort never added up because recovery and structure were missing.
We focused on restoring energy — improving sleep, adding simple nutrition plays, and tightening his weekly routine.
He lost over 12 kg and 14 cm from his waist, finishing at 72 kg and rebuilding both physique and confidence.
Quiet consistency became his super-power.
Hannah
Hannah joined Motiv8 wanting to rebuild her confidence in training and finally find a routine that worked around real life.
Working varying day and night shifts in a sedentary desk-based role made energy, sleep, and structure a constant battle.
Even with great home equipment, training was sporadic and progress stalled. She said, "When I'm working nights, I just don't have the energy or motivation — it's hard to get back into it."
The problem wasn't effort, it was structure that fit her unpredictable schedule. We built a flexible home-based plan designed to work around her shifts — short, focused sessions and simple nutrition goals to keep progress steady regardless of work pattern.
Hannah lost 5.7 kg in total, rebuilt consistency, and proved that progress is possible even with a changing schedule.
She's stronger, leaner, and more in control than ever.

Ian
Ian had known he needed to do something about his health and fitness for a while, but he'd kept putting it off.
A history of back issues, a busy schedule with work and kids, and the fear of aggravating old injuries made starting feel like a risk he couldn't afford.
Every time he'd tried before, something would flare up and progress would stop dead. The cycle of starting, hurting, and stopping had left him stuck — frustrated but unsure how to move forward safely.
We made sure his programme was time-efficient, effective, and built around protecting his back — not pushing through it.
We focused on movement quality, gradual progression, and sessions that fit his family life without adding extra stress.
Ian lost 20 kg, his back issues got infinitely better, and he had more energy than ever to keep up with the kids.
No flare-ups. No setbacks. Just steady, sustainable progress that proved the right structure changes everything.

Greg
Greg wanted to lose fat, rebuild lost muscle, and finally feel like himself again.
Weekend drinking and takeaways had pushed his weight over 210 lbs — a point he described as "way too high."
He'd get a few days in, feel drained, then quit. Friday beers and takeaways meant another Monday reset.
We removed guesswork — steady calorie targets, structured sessions, and realistic flexibility for social life.
Greg dropped over 40 lbs, rebuilt serious strength, and found a rhythm that kept progress steady.
Now at around 170 lbs he is leaner, stronger, and more mindful than ever.

Holly
Holly came in wanting to lose weight, tone up, and feel more confident all over — especially around her hips, bum, and thighs.
As a full-time administrator and busy mum of two, she spent most days seated and nights short on sleep. She said, "I tell myself most days I need to do something, but I never stick to it."
Time, motivation, and lack of plan were the barriers.
We built structure that fit family life — short sessions, achievable activity targets, and a flexible, family-friendly food system.
Holly regained consistency, saw visible shape change, and felt more energetic and in control — progress that fits real life.

Rich,
Rich wanted to drop weight, feel fitter, and finally get back in control of his health and routine.
Between work and family, the only time he could train was at weekends — one or two sessions at most.
He said it straight: "Time, sticking to a plan, and having a structure that works for me."
We created a weekend-focused programme with high-return sessions and weekday nutrition + activity goals to bridge the gap.
Rich lost 11 kg in 8 weeks by nailing his nutrition and consistency.
His routine now fits his life — not the other way around.

Kirsty
Kirsty came to me at a low point. A history of back issues had meant doctors told her she might never be able to lift weights or perform any kind of impact-based activity for fear of further damage.
That knocked her confidence completely and affected every area of her life. She felt written off — stuck watching from the sidelines while her body dictated what she couldn't do.
The fear of making things worse had kept her from even trying, and that helplessness weighed heavier than any physical pain.
We did a thorough assessment and worked out the best exercises and approach for her to take. We progressed her gradually, building strength and resilience without rushing or risking setbacks.
Over time, she didn't just prove the doctors wrong — she rewrote the entire story. Kirsty lost an incredible 26 kg, took up kickboxing, competed in two powerlifting competitions (including a 115 kg deadlift), fought in a charity boxing match, and entered her first strongwoman competition.
She went from being told what she'd never do to proving what she's capable of. Her transformation wasn't just physical — it was a complete reclaiming of confidence, strength, and control.

Client
Having a high-stress job with frequent travel up and down the country, my client had a million excuses not to be consistent with his training.
He was no stranger to the gym — he'd been training for years — but something would always come up and get in the way of his consistency.
Work trips, late finishes, packed schedules, and exhaustion meant progress was always stop-start.
He knew what to do, but life kept derailing him before results could compound. We focused on keeping him accountable, setting a realistic gym plan, and making sure even when his schedule got booked up, he could still follow his routine with his eyes closed.
The structure was simple enough to survive chaos but effective enough to drive real progress.
As a result, he was able to lose 12.1 kg and achieve the goal physique he'd worked so hard for. No perfect weeks required. No excuses needed. Just a plan that worked around real life — and finally stuck.

Client
My client came in wanting to drop body fat, firm up all over, and feel like she trained again — not just like she dieted.
She spent most of her day on her feet at work but with very little structured training.
Over time, she'd "lost her why" and said, "I've lost whatever bum I had and all the definition in my shoulders and arms — I just want to get back to where I was before."
Despite knowing how to eat well, motivation and consistency had faded. Each attempt started strong but fizzled out.
She admitted, "I've been trying to stay on top of my weight, but I've lost my spark — I just need a push."
We reintroduced proper structure — a progressive strength-based programme designed to rebuild shape, supported by clear nutritional guidance and weekly accountability to keep momentum going.
She toned up and completely changed her shape in just 8 weeks — rebuilding muscle definition, dropping body fat, and rediscovering the confidence she thought she'd lost.

James
James came in ready to train with purpose and push through the barriers that had held him back before.
Training at a commercial gym, he had all the equipment he could need but had struggled in the past with movement limitations that had stalled his momentum and confidence.
He said, "Every time I got going, something would flare up or stop me from keeping consistent — I just needed a plan that worked for me."
We built a tailored programme around improving movement quality and control — gradually progressing strength and stability while supporting it with nutrition that fuelled recovery and fat loss.
James lost 11 kg, rebuilt confidence in his body, and proved that smart structure beats pushing harder.
His consistency and discipline turned past setbacks into lasting progress.

Jamie
Jamie wanted to "get into shape properly" — not just lose a few kilos, but finally build something he could sustain.
At work, long shifts and travel made it easy for training to take a back seat.

He'd been in and out of the gym for years but said, "I've never stuck to it long enough to really see a difference."
He'd fall into the classic start-stop cycle — high effort at the beginning, burnout soon after. Progress always felt temporary because there was no clear direction.
We built a structured strength-training plan tailored to his schedule, with manageable nutrition targets and consistent weekly check-ins to keep him accountable without pressure.
Jamie lost 11 kg, rebuilt his strength, and gained a new level of confidence.
His results show how structure and accountability can turn "trying again" into lasting change.

Me
I wasn't always the "fitness guy." As a kid, I was overweight — not the natural athlete, just a kid who struggled with his weight and wanted to be an art teacher.
I even got a degree in Fine Art from Leeds University to make it happen. But during that degree, something shifted. I discovered kickboxing, started training, got obsessed.
I represented Leeds in the British University Championships multiple times, and somewhere along the way, I realised I didn't just want to train — I wanted to teach. That was over 10 years ago.
Since then, I've coached hundreds of people, competed in powerlifting, coached clients to fitness photoshoots and national competitions, and learned from some of the best educators in the UK.
I've also been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis — an autoimmune disease that affects my large intestine.
It presents challenges, but it's also taught me a lot about health, control, and focusing on what you can actually manage.
And since becoming a dad in 2022, I've had to live the same reality my clients do: trying to stay fit with limited time and competing priorities. The systems I built for clients? I use them myself, because I know they work.

Paul
Paul came to me wanting to build muscle and lose fat, but didn't know which way to go first — online was full of conflicting information.
Should he bulk?
Should he cut?
Every source said something different, and the paralysis kept him spinning his wheels.
Working a sedentary desk role meant his ability to burn calories through the day was harder, and without a clear direction, progress felt impossible. He was stuck between wanting to gain size and fearing he'd just get softer in the process.
We built a plan based on exercises he enjoyed, and focused on getting him lean and primed for building muscle first before shifting to pure muscle building.
The structure gave him clarity, and the phased approach meant he could see progress at every stage without second-guessing himself.
Paul grew like a weed — starting at 64 kg, dropping to 61 kg to strip back and reset, then building up to a lean, defined 69 kg. He gained muscle, stayed sharp, and finally had a physique that reflected the work he'd put in. No more confusion. Just results.

Brad
Brad came in wanting to drop weight, build muscle, and finally feel good in his own skin again.
Working a desk job meant long hours sitting still and low daily activity — by the time the day ended, energy for training was gone.
He described his pattern as "full pelt one week, then completely off the next."
That all-or-nothing rhythm left him frustrated and stuck.
We built guardrails around his week — simple gym sessions, clear meal structure, and a focus on minimums instead of perfection.
Brad lost 9.5 kg in 11 weeks, finding a balance between progress and real life.
The structure stuck — and so did the results.

Chloe
What were your main struggles with nutrition/training/fitness before working with me?

My biggest struggle was knowing what my macros needed to be, especially my protein intake, to achieve my goals

Tom was able to work that out for me and gave me tips to help me hit my goals.

Tom was great at helping me when going out for meals with what were the better choices or how you could achieve being in a calorie deficit whilst eating out.

How does nutrition make you feel now on a daily basis?
Eating better everyday and not beating myself up when I’ve had bad days, has helped my relationship with food.
Eating better on a daily basis has given me more energy which has helped my workouts and then overall feeling good in myself!

What would you say to someone who was on the fence about joining coaching?
To do it! The amount I’ve learnt over the past year and the improvement I’ve seen within myself is all worth it!

Also being taught properly to do the exercise is so important and helps gain confidence when working out independently!

The biggest win from coaching so far?

How strong I’ve become and seeing how much I can lift now than previously and seeing the muscle gain!

What is the most unexpected positive to come from working with me?
That I’ve become so much more consistent and working out regularly as previously I’ve not kept up my consistency previously.

Also I now enjoy going to the gym and no longer feeling like it’s a chore.

Annabelle
What were your main struggles with nutrition/training/fitness before working with me?

After just having a baby, I was nervous to get back into the gym, not only for confidence reasons, but because I didn’t have the right knowledge on what exercises would be right for my PP body. I didn’t want to do more damage than good.

How were those struggles making you feel on a daily basis?
As well as adjusting to mum life, I also had to adjust to my new body. I had always been quite an active person, so not being able to work out whilst I recovered from birth was a struggle, especially looking at my new body & not being able to do anything about it.

What was the tipping point that made you reach out to me where you thought enough was enough?
I always knew I’d want to have a PT to help me after having a baby, I think we pencilled in some sessions whilst I was still pregnant. Once I got the sign off from the midwives afterwards, I was raring to get back into the gym, and I was excited.

Why pick me specifically?
You had lots of good reviews, from people I know personally around the gym too. I also remember seeing you help your wife in the gym, whilst she was pregnant, so that made me feel more comfortable, knowing you had already dealt with pregnant & PP woman.

What were your reservations about coaching?

Mainly confidence & knowing what exercises were right for me in my state.

What is your training like now since working with me?
Amazing, I can walk into the gym and be confident on what & how I’m going to train for the whole hour, and that’s just the best feeling.

How does training make you feel now on a daily basis?
I get excited to go the gym now, and always leave in an even better mood, knowing I’ve been doing something right & beneficial for my body.
No more sitting outside the gym in my car trying to think of excuses of why to not go in! 😀

What would you say to someone who was on the fence about joining coaching?

I’d tell them to hurry up & jump off the fence, because they’re wasting precious time on getting help reaching their goals!

The biggest win from coaching so far?

I honestly prefer my new body now, which I didn’t think I’d ever be saying!
I also feel the most confident I ever have whilst solo training

Tracey
Why did you originally look into hiring a personal trainer?

As a slim person addicted to cardio, I wanted to gain strength and muscle for a longer fitter life.

What concerns did you have before you started working with me and how do you feel about them now?

Being a slim women in a big gym and being judged. It’s been the best decision I have made.
The gym is a family. No judgement, lots of support and some really inspirational gym goers.

I’ve made gym respect friends.
People who acknowledge you but also leave you to get on with your time. Love it.

What has been the biggest positive/have you enjoyed the most working with me?

Gaining an extremely supportive PT who has adapted, acknowledged and supported me through some really challenging life changes which included Cancer.

Supported my need to continue even when diet and sleep wasn’t great and when gruelling treatment and medical set backs took its toll. He supported me with no embarrassment but support and knowledge.

That support allowed me to recover.

I have built strength and confidence and learnt that this process is as slow or as quick as you and your needs/life demands can allow but most of all consistency is key no matter what you do.

My journey to weights has been slow but now addicted. Thank you .
Mike, 55
"Tom is very good, he really knows his stuff. The sessions are not too pushy or overly intense but you know you have worked out and the results soon show.
His also has a great knowledge of nutrition to help with achieving you goals. I highly recommend him."
Kelsey, 28
Tom is very down to earth, friendly and knowledgable.

I asked Tom to help me get in better shape for my wedding and it was the best decision I made. I feel stronger, fitter and more motivated than I have ever been.
There was a slight delay in my weight loss journey as I fell pregnant.
Tom supported me during my pregnancy and helped me with pregnancy friendly exercises. Once post-partum Tom waited until I was ready and then helped me ease back into exercise, and it didn’t take long to get the same level of strength/fitness back as pre pregnancy.
Tom’s given me the tools and confidence I can continue to use throughout life. I could not recommend him enough!
John, 36
"Tom is a professional dedicated and knowledgable guy who takes achieving your personal goals as serious as you do.

He has a huge amount of knowledge and has answers to anything you ask, the Why’s, the Whats and the how’s of fitness, training and diet.
Tom Got me on a road I never thought I’d get to with regards to enjoying the gym.

I would highly recommend Tom if your looking for someone to create a plan and come on the fitness journey with you"
Gary, 39
"Tom breaks everything down into clear, manageable steps and focuses on education as well as instruction.
At the end of our time working together I was in the best shape I have been in for over 10 years.
The best endorsement I can give Tom though, is that since we worked together I’ve managed to maintain this condition thanks to the lessons learnt and advice given."
Denise, 52
Tom is great, sorted out my knee problem. Very knowledgeable and knows what is best for the client
Graham, 29
Truly excellent personal trainer, knowledgeable and with a down to earth attitude that you don't get with some other trainers.
Couldn't recommend highly enough
