Privacy policy

This explains what personal information I collect through this website and my coaching, why I collect it, who else sees it and what you can ask me to do with it.
Who I am
This website and my coaching are run by Thomas Edwards Training Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14121549), registered office Suite 5 IDB House, 70 Savile Street East, Sheffield S4 7UQ. I'm Thomas Edwards, the company's director, and I do all the coaching myself.
Thomas Edwards Training Ltd is responsible for your personal information, which UK data protection law calls the "controller". In this policy, "I" and "me" mean the company.
If you have a question about your information, or want to use any of the rights below, email me at thomas@thomasedwardstraining.com or call 07714 534257.
What I collect and why
When you ask for a free call
Your name, email address, mobile number, the days and times that suit you, how you'd like me to get in touch, and anything else you choose to tell me in the form. I use it to arrange the call, have it, and follow up about coaching afterwards.
Lawful basis: taking steps you've asked for before we agree to work together, and my legitimate interest in replying to enquiries.
When you join the Motiv8 email list
Your first name and email address. I use them to send you the Round 8 dates and announcements first, along with occasional emails about my coaching. Your details are saved in Wix and added to my Mailchimp email list, marked as interested in Motiv8.
Lawful basis: your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also just ask me to take you off.
When you use the Fat Loss Leak Finder quiz or Protein Sorted
Your answers and, if you ask for your report or recommendations by email, your name and email address. I use them to send you the report and occasional emails about my coaching, through Mailchimp.
Lawful basis: your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
When you message, call or email me
Whatever you send me, including your phone number if you use WhatsApp or call. I use it to reply and help with whatever you've asked.
Lawful basis: my legitimate interest in replying to you.
When you buy the Protein Cookbook
The cookbook is sold through Payhip, which takes your payment. I receive your name and email address so I can deliver the cookbook and help if anything goes wrong. I never see your card details.
Lawful basis: carrying out our contract.
If you become a client
To coach you properly I collect health and fitness information, such as your weight, measurements, progress photos, food and training logs, injuries, and any medical conditions you tell me about. Health information is "special category" data under UK law, so I only collect it with your explicit consent, which you give when you start coaching, and I only use it to coach you.
Your programme, check-ins, measurements and progress photos are kept in the TETraining app. Client payments are taken by Stripe, which handles your card details, so I never see them.
Lawful basis: carrying out our coaching contract, and your explicit consent for health information. You can withdraw that consent at any time, although I may not be able to keep coaching you without it.
How you use this website
Google Analytics shows me which pages people visit and which buttons they use. If you accept advertising cookies, Meta's pixel shows me whether people who see my Facebook and Instagram ads go on to get in touch, and lets me show ads to people who've visited. The cookie policy has the details and how to change your choice.
Lawful basis: my legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used, and your consent for advertising cookies.
Who I share it with
I don't sell your information. I use these companies to run the site and my business, and they only use your information to provide their service to me:
- Wix: hosts this website and stores form submissions
- Mailchimp (Intuit): my email list
- Google: Google Analytics
- Meta: the Meta Pixel, only if you accept advertising cookies
- Payhip: cookbook sales
- Netlify: hosts the Protein Sorted tool
- The TETraining app's platform provider: runs the app that holds client programmes, check-ins and progress
- Stripe: client payments
Some of these companies are based outside the UK or store data there. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the protections UK law requires, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contract terms.
I'll also share information if the law requires it.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that don't turn into coaching: up to 12 months after we last spoke.
- Email list details: until you unsubscribe.
- Client records: up to 6 years after coaching ends, for tax and insurance.
Your rights
You can ask me to:
- give you a copy of the information I hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your information
- limit how I use it, or stop using it for a particular purpose
- send your information to you or someone else in a common format
- stop sending you marketing emails, at any time
Where I rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email me at thomas@thomasedwardstraining.com and I'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If anything changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
